If you prefer a quieter experience and the freedom to explore at your own pace, the weekdays are generally less busy than weekends. Visit the place either just after the gallery opens or at around 5 in the evening before the gallery closes. 

To avoid waiting in the queue, you can book tickets online and directly enter the gallery. 

November to January and June to July are the peak times for the gallery. The climate is pleasant and there are several festivities happening which make it a good time to visit the museum.

The shoulder season is from mid-January through May, during which the weather is slightly humid and not many public holidays. This is a good time to visit if you want a more quieter exploration of the gallery and Singapore.
