The picturesque Bishan-Ang Mo Kio park, one of Singapore's biggest, is divided into two parts by Marymount Road. The beginning of the Kallang River, which descends from Lower Pierce Reservoir through some luxuriant 62 hectares of parkland, cuts across the length of the park. Native wildlife also frequents the waterway.

The Learning Forest, which is a part of the Botanic Gardens, was created to blend with the nearby 6-hectare rainforest to create a larger forest habitat.
