Future World: Where Art Meets Science

This exhibition at the museum uses digital interactive installations to immerse you into the worlds operating around these themes. There are installations where you can create your own characters in these worlds, be it your own fish swimming around in the aquarium or emulating wind, fire, and rain to help the gods. A must-visit here is the Crystal universe which stimulates thousands of stars using LED lights. Talk about walking through the stars!

New Eden: Science Fiction Mythologies Transformed

A collective effort of 24 women artists to showcase the sci-fi genre through the lens of women. This exhibit brings also highlights mythologies, post-modern cinema, and contemporary art elements to illustrate the possibility of science fiction emerging from Asian philosophy and spiritual practices. It may seem a little confusing just by the description, but it really is a cool, futuristic exhibit that is worth visiting while you're at the museum.

Mars: The Red Mirror

This 300 piece exhibit at the museum is curated to show the different ways Mars has been perceived by us humans. Take a look at ancient manuscripts, historic artefacts (including a meteorite from the planet in question!), and contemporary media, to see why the Red Planet is associated with war, agriculture, masculinity, and is subject of fascination for scientists and astrologists across the world. A fascinating exhibit for all ages, whether you're into astrology or not.

VR Gallery: Samsara

The VR Gallery hosts different temporary exhibitions and screenings throughout the year. Currently, you can view the Samsara film. The short film tells a story about a dystopian time-period where human greed has caused Earth's resources to diminish, and how the search for a new planet to live in causes us to keep coming back to Earth. You'll get a VR headset to truly enjoy the immersive artwork and surroundings.

Visitor Tips 

  • The museum is service dogs friendly, do not hesitate to bring your service dog with you.
  • Most exhibitions at the ArtScience Museum have a guided tour that you can book from the museum's website, before you arrive. This is a good way to get more insight into the artwork and the thought that goes into curating every exhibition.
  • While the museum is wheelchair and stroller friendly, the Future World exhibit in particular is not. This is because a lot of the immersive experiences at the exhibit will require you to up and moving in order to fully enjoy the experience.
  • Make sure to book your time slots for Future World from the museum's website to ensure entry to the exhibit.
  • The Samsara exhibition at the VR Gallery is not suitable for kids below 11 and people who suffer from epilepsy, claustrophobia or seizures.
  • Flash photography is prohibited, however, you can take as many photos as you like on your phone, sans flash.
